			<description><![CDATA[ well the wdfw has slammed the gold dredge miner with absolutely absurd work windows. from months to weeks and at times the rivers are either frozen or the
areas are covered in many feet of snow.

we (the miners) have been fighting this for what seems ages and for all the good it did for hundreds of us to testify we might have done better talkin to a
wall. the state refuses to use established science and and studies by the corp of engineers stating that you really cant screw upo a river with a 5&quot; or
smaller dredge. we have recovered many tons of lost lead (yours) and many many pounds of lost mercury from the old time bad mining practices.

we make strange bedfellows you fisherman and us miners, our dredges loosen up compacted stream gravels that enhance spawning areas there are many videos of
fish feeding off the stuff that comes off the sluice on a dredge. one study although not quite scientific, they ran a standard hot dog through the suction hose
through a gold dredge... ]]></description>

But it seems that the general population is still too insecure at times and they just delete it or it turns into some bashing session (which then gets deleted).<br> <br>I'll unashamedly admit that I've only signed up to post this announcement, and because I'm usually not welcomed on most other forums of this nature. 			<description><![CDATA[ I just wanted to pass along that in Dec. the the fishing community has lost one of the great ones &quot;Corky Smith&quot; a long time friend and guide. Corky helped me pick out my 1st sled, and helped me the 1st repairs as well as gave me my first hot shot plug and taught me to pull plugs. Corky is the one who got me into this buisness of guiding. I sat on the board of diirctors for friends of the cowlitz for many years and Corky was our President for most of them.
